Fordland Clinic is proud to announce that it recently earned the Missouri Primary Care Association’s Platinum Quality Award. The Platinum Award is the highest achievable level given by the MPCA and reflects the Fordland Clinic team’s efforts to provide exceptional preventative health care across an array of all eight categories of qualities measured by the association.
“It was no small feat to achieve this level of excellence,” said Dave Steinmann, Chief Executive Officer of Fordland Clinic. “Earning the Platinum Quality Award requires a commitment from our entire team – from our front desk staff to our client-facing health care providers – to make this accomplishment possible.”
To earn the Platinum Quality Award, the team had to reach or surpass benchmarks set by the MPCA in the following categories:
- Lead Screenings: The MPCA target for lead screenings of children under 24 months was set at 40%. Fordland Clinic achieved a 43.6% screening rate.
- Childhood immunization: Fordland Clinic provided immunization to 53.8% of eligible childhood clients, surpassing the MPCA goal of 48%.
- Statin Therapy: The MPCA set a goal of 70% of eligible patients who meet the criteria for statin therapy being prescribed the medication. Fordland Clinic achieved a 72.7% rate.
- AIC Testing: 93.2% of Fordland Clinic diabetes patients received an A1C test in the past year, surpassing the MPCA target of 90%.
- Cervical Cancer Screenings: Fordland Clinic successfully screened 52% of eligible patients, surpassing the MPCA goal of 40%.
- Breast Cancer Screenings: The MPCA sets a 35% goal of patients in the 50-75 age range getting screened for breast cancer. Fordland Clinic screened 55.2% of its patients in that age range.
- Colorectal Cancer Screening: Fordland Clinic screened 51.1% of eligible patients, far surpassing the MPCA target of 28%.
- Hypertension Controlling High Blood Pressure – Fordland Clinic recorded blood pressure readings from 99.7% of clients; the MPCA sets a target goal of 99.6%.
This marks an improvement on Fordland Clinic’s prior year, when the team earned a Bronze Quality Award from the MPCA for surpassing four of the eight quality measures.
“Whether it’s our effort to establish a new dental service wing or to exceed the MPCA’s benchmarks for Platinum Care, everything we do at Fordland Clinic is done to offer our clients top-tier health care in the communities we serve,” Steinmann said. “This is an achievement to celebrate, and one to build from. We will continue working to ensure our patients receive high quality care each time they come to Fordland Clinic.”
